Kate's Cup of Tea: Karma Cream

You may be wondering "What does coffee have to do with news reporting?" Everything. I often work long, tiring shifts at WUFT or ESPN Gainesville, and an cute cup of coffee keeps me cool.

Karma Cream is located on West University Avenue. This charming cafe was renovated last year, and they did a terrific job. The shop's funky light fixtures illuminate the busy Gainesville street night and day.

The cafe creates the best, guilt-free cups of coffee. Their coffee is organic and roasted locally in Gainesville. They also have organic tea and organic beer. You can pair it with their 24 organic ice cream flavors. 12 of which are vegan.

They make their own vegan cookies, brownies and cupcakes from scratch. Not in the mood for sweets? Don't stress it. They also make vegan sandwiches and wraps, and it's all organic.

My caramel latte and matching glasses.
I love to come here to research or write my stories. The pale green walls, white subway tile backsplash and light wood tables and benches help me to relax and connect with all things organic. Plus the mugs matched my new reading glasses!

Check it out for yourself next time you are seeking a coffee shop who "gets it."
